The premiere of “Dijante Mente 2” is scheduled for June 20th, but RECREIO has already had the opportunity to watch the sequel. Know more!
One of the most anticipated releases of 2024 is certainly the sequel to “Inside Out”. One year after the events of the first film, we will now follow Riley through the dreaded pre-adolescence phase, where the character will acquire new experiences and go through major emotional changes, whether good or bad.
The official premiere is scheduled for June 20th, but RECREIO has already had the opportunity to see the film first hand. With that, we tell you 5 reasons to convince you to watch “Inside Out 2”!
1. Harnessing New Emotions
During the trailers, it is already possible to identify that new emotions will take control of Riley’s head. Anxiety, Envy, Boredom and Shame will make up the team in the control center along with the other primordial emotions, which will cause chaos in the protagonist’s life.
As described by Alegria, Riley became a generous, intelligent and helpful girl with her friends and the people around her. However, everything changes when her performance in hockey, a sport she has played since childhood, begins to attract the attention of her high school coach. Through this, Riley sees an opportunity to grow both socially and professionally, but at the same time, the ability she believes she has also triggers her worst insecurities.
It is from this moment that the new quartet takes control, making everything more identifiable for the viewer. The countless “What if…” that anxiety generates, envy mixed with the desire to follow in the same footsteps of someone we admire, the shame that arises when we meet new people and the boredom of routine are some of the new things that are about to happen. come over.
2. Puberty Alarm
During the final minutes of the first film, we see an alarm in Riley’s mind that signals the moment when she will reach puberty. Next, we finally see this alarm sound, along with the mess it causes in the control center. Overturned furniture, broken glass and memories scattered everywhere clearly represent the moment in which changes take place, generating several comical dialogues between the primordial emotions.

3. Sense of Self
One of the central points that “Inside Out 2” portrays is the idea of the “Sense of Self”. Everything we believe about ourselves, our perception of identity and our self-image in front of people are intertwined in a kind of tree based on our thoughts and memories. Before the arrival of new emotions, Riley always remained optimistic and cheerful, believing mainly in his kindness and abilities during hockey games.
But, with the arrival of mainly Anxiety, the “Sense of Self” undergoes a drastic change, as Riley’s mind turns into a receptacle of doubts and worries. In a new environment, where she feels inferior to her colleagues and spends most days afraid of failing, the protagonist proves to us that no experience is individual. During these moments, she wants to enter the screen to hug her, reassuring her that everything will be okay.

4. New Personality Islands
In Inside Out, we meet Riley’s Personality Islands. For each special and memorable moment she experiences, a new Island is created in her mind. At 11 years old, we only knew 5, namely Family Island, Honesty Island, Bobeira Island, Friendship Island and Hockey Island.
In Inside Out 2, we see Riley’s Islands, now 13 years old, expand, including three more that make reference to the common tastes that many teenagers develop. We have the Island of Tragic Vampire Romance, a clear allusion to the phase in which we fell in love with the “Twilight” saga; Boy Band Island, which reminds us of groups like One Direction and BTS; and Fashion Island, which reflects your style interests.

5. Accept who you are
Just like any “coming of age” narrative, ‘Inside Out 2’ is also full of clichés. However, what stands out in the animation is the classic process of self-acceptance. Although it is a recurring theme in many stories, Riley reminds us that the most important thing is not to pretend to be someone we are not just to please other people. Controlling emotions is part of the process, after all, they are what shape our choices in the end.
