See what BTS’ Jin’s first steps will be after completing the mandatory military enlistment for men in South Korea
On December 13, 2022, ARMYs (as BTS fans are called) had to temporarily say goodbye to Jinthe oldest member of BTS, as the idol began his military enlistment by entering the 5th Infantry Division recruitment training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi province, South Korea.
Still, fans never felt distant from the idol, since since the first month of enlistment, the singer has posted one video a month (recorded before joining the Armed Forces) to reinforce fans’ longing and remain present even if he is away from the spotlight, the most recent being the video published in May this year. I’m coming to the end of my videos, which means I’ll see you soon,” Jin said. “I missed you a lot, even when I look at you, I still want to see more of you, this is ARMY”, reinforced the idol at another point in the video.
Since then, the countdown to the return of Jin is getting closer and closer to coming to an end, as on June 12th he will complete his 18 months of enlistment, and will be officially exempt from mandatory military service, thus finally being able to satisfy his longing for the ARMY.

In-person event with fans
The exit of Jin of the army takes place exactly one day before the celebration of the 11th anniversary of BTS’s debut, which took place on June 13, 2013, with the mini-album “2 Cool 4 Skool”, and the work song “No More Dream”. Thus, the idol will participate in BTS FESTA 2024 through an in-person event, at the Jamsil arena at the Jamsil Sports Complex, Songpa-gu, Seoul, where he will be able to interact with a thousand fans selected through a draw.
The draw will be held among Weverse Shop GLOBAL buyers of albums (including solo albums) released after “Proof”, and the winners will be announced on June 8th. See more details in the statement released by the agency that manages the group’s career, BIGHIT Music, on Weverse.
The event will be divided into two parts. In the first of them, scheduled to last 3 hours, the lucky ARMYs who win the raffle will be able to choose between two special interactions with Jin: a “light hug” (suggested by the idol himself) or a handshake.
solo show
The second part of the event will consist of a solo show by Jinwhere, according to the statement released by BIGHIT Music, “Jin will feature various performances that ARMY wants to see” for about an hour. In this presentation, 4 thousand selected ARMYs are expected to be present.
Details about which tracks will be performed have not yet been released to the public.
