Meet five cute grandparents featured in some of the classic animations released by Disney over its 100 years
In Disney animations, in addition to introducing us to striking and strong characters, responsible for facing different challenges — which often end up being very dangerous — to achieve their long-awaited happy ending.
Likewise, the studio has also introduced us to names that are impossible not to become attached to — especially those that represent grandparents, and remind us of the people who help our parents raise us, and convey wise advice and fascinating stories.

1. Grandma Fa (Mulan)
The great matriarch of the Fa family is exactly that grandmother who is not afraid to speak her mind, and knows the best superstitions — like the lucky cricket —, in addition to always valuing her family and everyone’s well-being.
2. Grandma Paguro (Luca)
You know those grandparents who always support their grandchildren, regardless of the parents’ decision? This is the case of Grandma Paguro, from “Luca”. In the animation, Luca dreams of getting out of the water and discovering the human world, something that is strongly disapproved by his parents, with his grandmother being the only one to support him in his desire.
3. Mama Coco (Viva – Life is a Party)
Vovó Socorro, better known simply as Mama Coco, Miguel’s great-grandmother in “Viva – A Vida é uma Festa”, represents the importance of knowing your roots. Furthermore, Coco is also one of the biggest supporters and motivators of her great-grandson’s musical dream.
4. Grandma Tala (Moana)
Being also a great connoisseur of the history of the island of Motonui, Tala is the best friend and confidant of her granddaughter, Moana, in addition to both sharing an important connection with the ocean. After her death, her spirit takes the form of an illuminated ray, responsible for guiding the girl to the open sea to begin her journey in search of Te Fiti’s heart.
5. Grandma Willow (Pocahontas)
In “Pocahontas”, Grandma Willow appears in the shape of a willow tree, being a great advisor to the protagonist. Always with wise words, it is Willow who helps Pocahontas to always follow the right path and believe in her dream.
