According to a report released by Bloomberg (via Omelete), Walt Disney Studios is studying the possibility of producing reboots of some Pixar hits, involving animations such as “The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo”. The reason behind the idea is that Disney is considering rebooting or revisiting the universes that have generated great success and profit for the company.
The adventures of Nemo and his father’s journeys, added to the conflicts of the Pêra family, paid dividends for Disney parks at the time when films were in the spotlight. The CEO Bob Igertogether with its management, is looking for guaranteed victories, counting on the support of longtime fans, for example.
The president of Pixar, Jim Morrisalso agrees with the idea, saying that there is a certain risk in producing sequels, as public reception can be negative:
With a sequel, if you release something that doesn’t have quality, you will be punished for it (…) Having gone through the crisis we went through, it will certainly be a good test with Inside Out 2 to see if this thing still works or not.
It is worth remembering that both animations, “The Incredibles” and “Finding Nemo”, have sequences that were very well evaluated by specialized critics. All productions are available on Disney+.
