The British Royal Family website is (once again) trolling Prince Harry

In November 2016, Prince Harry publicly defended Meghan Markle, then his girlfriend, in a press release against the media, denouncing a spate of harassment. The announcement has since been removed from the royal family’s official website.

The announcement at the time “enraged” King Charles III. In November 2016, just days after going public with his relationship with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry spoke about the treatment he received from the media at the time. He believed at the time that “a line had been crossed,” particularly in terms of media intrusion.

“Prince Harry is concerned for Ms Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he was unable to protect her,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. It’s not fair that Ms. Markle is exposed to such a storm just a few months after starting a relationship with him.”

For seven years, this press release remained in the official announcements section of the official website of the British royal family, royal.uk. But it is no longer available. Agreed Newsweek it would be mysteriously deleted from the site in December 2023. This announcement had symbolic content for the couple, now removed from their royal functions; relations.

“Daddy and Willy were mad.”

A statement that caused a great scandal among the members of the royal family. “My announcement sparked a whole new attack on my family,” Prince Harry wrote in his book Spare. “Dad and Willie were furious. (…) My statement made them look bad, they both said. (…) Because they never made a statement for their girlfriends or their wives when they were harassed.

This is not the first time that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been removed from the official website of the monarchy. In March 2024, the couple’s individual portraits disappeared from the website’s main page, and their respective biographies were combined into one, much shorter than the others’ biographies, and placed below Prince Andrew’s image, himself disgraced.
