Netflix is making a sequel to the 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore, with Adam Sandler returning to star.
Hollywood actor Adam Sandler will play the lead role in the film’s sequel Happy Gilmore 1996. It is reported variously.
He then played the lead role and wrote the script for the film, directed by Dennis Dugan.
Its hero, Happy Gilmore, a decorated hockey player with anger management issues, discovers that he also has a talent for golf. He goes on a golf tour to win money to save his grandmother’s house.
Ribbon Happy Gilmore grossed nearly $40 million worldwide in 1996, helping to establish Sandler as one of the biggest comedy stars of the decade.
It was previously reported that Reese Witherspoon has announced a prequel series in the Legally blondewhich will premiere next year.
