Last year, the film Stop-Earth directed by Ekaterina Gornostai won the Best Film category.
The Ukrainian Film Academy announced the nominees for the VIII annual national film awards Gold chicken.
Leading the number of nominations is the film La Palisade, presented in 14 categories. Followed by a ribbon dovbush, which had 13 nominations, and the film closed out the top three Lessons in Tolerance – eight nominations.
In the category Best movie will fight:
- 20 days in Mariupol (dir. Mstislav Chernov);
- Dovbush (dir. Oles Sanin);
- La Palisade (dir. Philip Sotnichenko);
- Lessons in Tolerance (dir. Arkady Nepitaliuk);
- How is Katya? (dir. Kristina Tinkevich).
Best Documentary:
- 20 days in Mariupol (dir. Mstislav Chernov);
- Steel butterflies (dir. Roman Any);

Ivan and Marta (dir. Sergei Bukovsky);
- Infinity according to Florian (dir. Alexey Radinsky).
Best Short Fiction Film:
- Great Little War (dir. Miroslav Latik);
- Be alive (dir. Vladlen Odudenko).
Best Short Documentary:
- Troops from Bakhmut (directed and produced by Igor Babaev);
- Guests from Kharkov (dir. Galina Lavrinets);
- Storks always come home (dir. Gala Kozyutinskaya);
- Chernobyl 22 (dir. Alexey Radinsky)
Best Animated Film:
- Stop (dir. Ekaterina Omelyanenko);
- Mariupol One Hundred Nights (dir. Sofia Melnik);
- Mokosh (dir. Anna Dudko);
- Orca (dir. Nikita Ratnikov).
Award ceremony Gold chicken will take place on June 24, 2024.
