The series about “The Little Mermaid” will be part of Disney Jr.’s programming, and will also be available in the Disney+ catalog
This Wednesday, the 8th, Disney announced the premiere date of “Ariel”, its new musical animation series. Based on the “Little Mermaid” films, the production premieres on June 27th on Disney Jr. and the Disney Channel. On the 28th, eight episodes will be made available on the streaming platform Disney+. The series arrives a year after the premiere of Hailey Bailey in the princess’ live-action, released in 2023.

Set in the fictional kingdom of Atlântica, the series follows the mermaid princess Ariel (Mykal-Michelle Harris), as she embarks on an underwater adventure together with her family and friends. The story includes some characters already known from the classic plot, such as King Triton, the villain Ursula (Amber Riley) and the small yellow fish Flounder (Gracen Newton).
A series of shorts called “Disney Jr.’s Ariel: Mermaid Tales” will debut on June 5, aiming to prepare audiences for the series. It will be broadcast on Disney Jr., Disney Channel and will also be available on Disney+.
