The first trailer for ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ is now with us! The preview was released this Monday, 29th, during the Talk Show Good Morning America. Look!
More than that, Disney also revealed the film’s poster, which confirms the title’s release date: December 20, 2024, in the United States.
It is worth remembering that yesterday, the 28th, the first official image of the plot was also published, where Mufasa, still a puppy, appears prominently jumping from a tree. Remember!
Sequel to ‘The Lion King’, live-action released in 2019, the new production will, in fact, be a prequel, as it will focus on the past of Mufasa, Simba’s father, showing his rise to the title of King of the Jungle, as well as the relationship with his brother, Scar.
In the original dubbing cast, Aaron Pierre (Time) will give voice to Mufasa and Kevin Harrison Jr. (The Chicago 7) will be responsible for Taka, a character better known as Scar. Furthermore, the trailer confirmed that Beyoncé Knowles-Carter will reprise the role of Nala, while her daughter, Blue Ivy Carterwill be Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala.
The feature film, which will have songs by Lin-Manuel Mirandawill be under the direction Barry Jenkins (Moonlight), while the script is signed by Jeff Nathanson.
‘The Lion King‘ was the first live-action version of the animation released in 1998 by Disney, where Simba is the main character. The film follows the lion as he deals with loss and his own growth, while fighting to return to his land as king.
