In addition, “Bubble Gum” will also be part of a Japanese shampoo commercial, and NewJeans has its official debut in Japan scheduled for June 21st with a double single: the title track “Supernatural” and the b-side ” Right Now”.
It is worth remembering that NewJeans’ comeback schedule is taking place during a dispute between HYBE and its subsidiary ADOR, the agency responsible for the girl group’s career. The conflict was reported by the press last Monday, 22nd, after the conglomerate initiated an audit against the company, accusing the CEO Min Hee Jin of trying to make the brand independent.
Second Hee Jinthe disagreement would have started after she reported an alleged plagiarism committed by ILLIT, the most recent girl group from BeLift Lab (also a sub-brand of HYBE), which would have copied the NewJeans concept.
In a press conference held last Thursday, 25th, the CEO Min also accuses HYBE of boycotting NewJeans’ debut promotions, as well as denying that it was trying to usurp power, and transform ADOR into an independent company.
Through a note, HYBE denied all accusations made by Min Hee Jin, and again stated that the businesswoman was planning a coup against the conglomerate to become independent a few months ago. The case remains ongoing.
