Prince Louis of Wales celebrates his 6th birthday today. On this occasion, the Kensington Palace shared a photo of the little boy on Instagram.
Fans of the British royal family and the media have been waiting for it since yesterday, but the photo did not appear until early afternoon. On this April 23, a photo of their son Louis was posted on the Instagram page of the Prince and Princess of Wales. The six-year anniversary has been published.
Usually, the royal palace releases a photo the day before a family member’s birthday. The lack of publication therefore became a concern Daily Mail: even talking about the missing image on the morning of April 23. “William and Kate’s social networks are silent.”

In the photo that was finally released earlier this afternoon, we see Prince Louis posing on a sheet in the grass. The youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales wears blue trousers, a matching plaid shirt and a big smile. The photo is accompanied by the message: “Happy 6th birthday Prince Louis. Thank you for all the good wishes today.” The little boy, brother to Princess Charlotte (age 8) and Prince George (age 10), is currently 4th in line to the throne held by his grandfather Charles III. As mentioned in the description of the photo, it was taken by his mother, the Princess of Wales, who is currently battling cancer.
The announcement comes weeks after the controversy created by a retouched family photo Kate Middleton posted on March 10 for British Mother’s Day, followed by her cancer announcement. The Prince and Princess of Wales, however, chose not to deviate from tradition by posting a (usually unretouched) portrait of their youngest child.
