iKON’s Bobby explains old diss track made for BTS’ RM

Find out why Bobby, from iKON, chose RM, from BTS, for a diss track released ten years ago!

Do you know that Bobbyfrom iKON, has already participated in a diss track for RM, from BTS? Basically, “diss track” is a song of disrespect, in literal translation, and the term became famous with rap in the 1990s, when rival rappers from the West and East Coast divisions started to provoke each other through from music.

The popularity continues to this day, and this is how the track titled “Come Here”, released in 2014 as a collaboration between Bobby, Dok2 It is Masta Wuthe idols brought some barbs to the BTS leader when mentioning the real meanings of the idol’s stage name and the group’s name.

This is because, at the time, RM adopted Rap Monster as his artistic name, and BTS, in fact, is the acronym for Bulletproof Boy Scouts, in Portuguese, something like “bulletproof boy scouts”, words mentioned in the track “Come Here”. Look!

They call me a monster
It’s not a name I created
You’d rather have a full-length mirror than a basement dungeon, wouldn’t you?
If skill is appearance, then I am Won Bin in front of bulletproof glass”

When it was released, the track gained enormous notoriety, as some saw it as a real and gratuitous attack on the idol, even though RM revealed in an interview that he has no resentment against Bobbymentioning that the song hit him with a “light blow”, in addition to stating that he saw no harm in the lyrics, considering them “fun”, as reported by the AllKpop portal.

Recently, it was the turn of Bobby comment on the track and explain why you chose it RM for the diss from ten years ago. This happened in a chat for YouTube channel Moneygraphy’s talk show ‘Money Chord’, where the idol was approached by one of the hosts about the track.

“You made a diss to RM and RM knew your intentions, so he responded, and it was interesting. And I think K-pop fans didn’t understand what it was. (They thought) why are they attacking each other? They considered this as a real personal attack. But it’s just a game (battle) in hip-hop culture,” the presenter began.

Completing the program host’s thoughts, Bobby He said that, at the time, he wanted to do the diss after seeing the artist kendrick do something similar on a track Big Seanas well as revealing that the BTS leader was not the only target.

The idol explained that EXO emerged as one of the possibilities for the diss, but he didn’t choose them due to fear of the group’s fandom, which was bigger than BTS’s at the time, implying that possible reprisals from EXOLs could be harsh. too much for him to handle, thus having RM as the best option.

This is what I think. There was this conversation ‘Why didn’t you attack EXO? ‘ They told me that. EXO had a lot of fans. My honest answer? If I messed with EXO, I would be dead. ”

Upon hearing the answer from Bobbythe hosts added that the choice made sense as RM could answer him on the same level: “In a sense, it’s respect. You attacked because you wanted a good fight. It’s an interesting fight.”
