Discover the Easter egg present in “Mulan”, an animation released by Disney in 1998, which almost no one managed to understand
In 1998, Disney released its newest princess film, “Mulan”, a work that adapts the ancient 6th century Chinese tale entitled “The Ballad of Hua Mulan”, and follows the story of a girl who decides to dress as a man to manage to take his father’s place in the army.
Like many productions from the studio created by Walt Disney, the film has a series of hidden Easter eggs that fans often end up not noticing. One of the references is the work of art to “American Gothic”, by Grant Wood, which appears to be represented among the princess’s ancestors.
Another subtle Easter egg is the exercise done by Mulan’s father after receiving the call to war. Although it seems like a common scene, in fact, the movements are an ancient combat style known as “Mulan Quan”, the same name as the protagonist.

In addition, the film also presents a series of tributes to the animation producers. One of them is present at the end of the plot, when, during the protagonist’s battle with the villain Shan Yu, we can see two men working in a tower with fireworks. In fact, they are Tony Bancroft It is Barry Cookdirectors of the work.

Another Easter egg in honor of the producers that almost no one knows about is present in the scene in which Mulan sings the song “Imagem”, and visits the family sanctuary. There, you can see the tombstones of your ancestors, which have writings in ancient Chinese engraved on the stones.
Many people may have believed that the words there were names invented by the studio to represent the protagonist’s family members who have passed away. Although they are actually written names, they were not actually invented — but rather are a tribute to the animators and people involved in the project.
