With 13 characters in the franchise, find out which Disney princesses don’t have their own name as the title of their films!
Snow White, Cinderella and Belle, what do these three princesses have in common in their stories? In addition to dealing with enchantments and spells and finishing their stories alongside their romantic partners, the trio is also responsible for giving the title to the plot itself: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1937), “Cinderella” (1950) and “Beauty and the Beast” (1991).
Although it is common for the princesses’ names to also be the titles of their plots on the big screen, six out of the thirteen official Disney princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Mérida, Moana and Raya) do not fit this pattern.

1. Aurora
Aurora is the princess from ‘Sleeping Beauty’. The story, released in 1959, adapts the story of the same name by Charles Perraultwhere newborn Aurora becomes the victim of a cruel spell that makes her fall into a deep sleep on her 16th birthday, with the solution to getting rid of the curse being to receive a kiss from her true love.
2. Ariel

The daughter of King Triton, that is, Princess Ariel, is the protagonist of ‘The Little Mermaid’, a 1989 animation in which the character dreams of leaving the depths of the ocean to explore life on the surface, making a suspicious deal with the sea witch, Ursula, to get the chance to make her wish come true.
3. Jasmine

Princess Jasmine appears in “Aladdin” (1992), an adaptation of one of the stories from the book “Arabian Nights”, where Aladdin is the main protagonist. In the story, the Sultan’s daughter defies tradition and is willing to walk her own path, and in the midst of escaping to live her own story, she falls in love with Aladdin, a boy who lives a reality totally different from hers, but who gains the chance to change your life by receiving three wishes from the genie in the lamp.
4. Tiana

Character from the adaptation of the children’s story “The Frog Princess”, a book written byED Baker which was published in 2002, Tiana appears in the 2009 film entitled “The Princess and the Frog”, being portrayed as a dreamy and hard-working girl who aims to open her own restaurant, but who, along the way, ends up transforming into a frog when trying to help a prince who suffered a curse, living unthinkable adventures before realizing his dream.
5. Rapunzel

In 2010, ‘Tangled’ was released. The film presents a modern version of Rapunzel, as a girl with magical golden hair measuring 21 meters long who lives imprisoned in a tower dreaming of the day she will have her freedom.
In the film, she sees a chance to make her wish come true when she meets the bandit Flynn Rider (José Bezerra, in the Brazilian dubbing version), with whom she makes a deal and goes on a fun adventure that ends in romance.
6. Merida

Young Merida is the protagonist of ‘Brave’ (2012), an animation in which the Scottish princess challenges the customs of her kingdom by fighting for her own hand. Still, while trying to walk her own path, Merida ends up bringing a terrible curse to her family that turns her mother and three little brothers into grizzly bears, finding herself forced to embark on a race against time to save her loved ones before they die. the transformation becomes irreversible.
