This Thursday, the 11th, “Ghostbusters: Ice Apocalypse”, the new film in the “Ghostbusters” franchise, premieres. This time, with a new generation of the beloved Ghostbusters! It is worth remembering that the first film in the saga was released in 1984.
It is a direct sequel to “Ghostbusters: Beyond”, released in 2021. The story takes place 30 years after the events of “Ghostbusters 2”, from 1989. Furthermore, due to the death of Ivan Reitmanthis is the first film in the franchise without the filmmaker, remembered for being the director and producer of the 1984 and 1989 films.
However, the filmmaker’s legacy lives on. That’s because, his son, Jason Reitman, directed the 2021 feature film and, in this new production, is the producer.
