Camille Chamou and Tristan Lopen. “It’s impossible to say no to Jamel and Ramsey.”

Twenty-six years after the series was released Q:Jamel Debussy presented his new sitcom at the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, April 5 Terminal. A chance to chat with two of the cast members, Camille Chamouille and Tristan Lopen.

The atmosphere on the pink carpet of the Cannes Film Festival is festive. This Friday, April 5th, Jamel Debouz puts on a show with Ramsey Bedia in between verbal banter and banter at the event’s opening ceremony. Both come to attend the premiere TerminalThe sitcom co-directed by Jamel Debubuz and Mohamed Hamidi, twenty-six years after its success. Q:. The playing field. The Flywingz team (very) airline low price, tries to overcome the most absurd situations as much as possible. In the series, as in the Palais des Festivals, there is a spirit of genuine camaraderie. Camille Chamou and Tristan Lopen, who we met the next day in an equally criminal atmosphere, stand out among the cast.

Madame Figaro. – Tell us about your meeting?
Tristan Lopin. – It was during residency that we did with all the actors before filming Terminal.
Camille Shamu. – I told Tristan. “Nice to meet you.” He answered: “Okay? It makes me happy because three years ago I wrote you on Instagram to tell you that I liked your show and you never replied. (Is laughing) This residency was Jamel’s idea for the cast members to meet each other. It was a stroke of genius.

There was a crazy camaraderie in Ramsey’s game

Camille Chamou

What got you into adventuring? Terminal ?
SD . – No one can refuse a project with Ramsey and Jamel. They are icons of French humor. They revolutionized something. It’s impossible to say no to them. Very happy to be with them.
TL- I didn’t even ask myself that question. But it’s true that since these are people we’ve seen a lot of, I was a little worried about whether they’d be okay. Especially Ramsay – Jamel isn’t in the series much – I wondered if he’d leave room for others to exist, because that could be tricky. And he did it very well.
SD – There was crazy camaraderie at Ramsey’s game. Let’s not talk about it at Jamel’s. He was like a humorous leprechaun who came and whispered more and more funny things in our ears. Which means that every time you use one of his jokes, it makes people laugh even more. These guys are entertainment scientists.

Terminal , it is above all a collective adventure. What makes your group strong?
TL- Jamel and Mohammed brought together people with whom they had a very good relationship on a human level. So they knew it would be a good match for them.
SD – They also chose people who worked on the stage or in the theater. Everyone was very happy to be there, because this is a project that combines the pleasure of playing live in front of an audience and filming in front of a camera, doing comedy, comic fantasy. There was a certain uniformity. In TerminalFlywingz is an inclusive company that employs misfits and misfits everywhere. In their essays there are people who come from all walks of life.
TL- That’s what makes the series a success. He mixes so many different profiles that you can identify with one of them no matter what.

Tell us about your characters in the series?
TL- Camille’s character, Armel, is both very militant and full of contradictions. He works for an airline, though he’s very eco-friendly, doesn’t wash, and lives in a trailer with dogs. But he’s a lovable character.
SD – Tristan’s character is called Tristan because, like him, he is a character.”I mean» (disgusting, editor’s note), as the Anglo-Saxons say. He is mischievous and constantly throws slang. He is the only intelligent person in this company, but he uses his intelligence to serve his evil. It still gets exciting.

With Manu Payet, we redid a scene at least 15 times, we laughed so much

Tristan Loppin

What is your best memory from filming?
TL – I shot a scene with Manu Paye where both of us were face to face. We made a lot of improvements and we keep adding them. I think we did this at least 15 times because we laughed so hard.
SD – My best memory was this week when we were all together. I feel like I’ve been roommates with these people. Even my 5-year-old daughter, who entered the audience, found our jokes funny. It’s like a game. Jamel’s humor works with everyone.

For this shooting, the directors used a special device – a platform that rotates…
TL – Throughout the sequence, the stand rotates on its base so that the audience faces the set. It’s a bit like Futuroscope.
SD – Or as in Spin the Carousel!for reference.

Camille, you were Mistress of Ceremonies at the Cannes Film Festival last year. What do you remember from it?
SD – I enjoyed this experience. Also, I found the new master of ceremonies, Bertrand Usclat, to be insane. His performance was very funny. In general, I love this festival that I have already come to represent The flame And Tapie.

What did you discover about each other during filming?
TL- That he was good because I had a lot of bad reactions (Is laughing):
SD – Tristan Lopin too. Also, I highly recommend his show.
