CERTIFICATES – As a couple, growing old together is a challenge. Some people wake up one morning next to a person who no longer has any of the people they met. Or maybe it’s just their perspective that has changed.
“I felt the opposite of a fairy tale. I met Prince Charming, but after a few kisses he turned into a toad,” exclaims 44-year-old Agathe, a French airline executive. Today, she describes her partner of 46 years as “selfish, narcissistic and a bit manipulative”. A harsh observation that is not really surprising. He admits it himself. “I always knew he had a shark side. I’ve seen it in the business world.” His partner is a business restructuring consultant and expert. Agathe also claims to have seen him driving his boat so their friends would systematically pick a vacation spot he liked on a date that suited him. They even laughed at it then. At the beginning of their relationship, they both had a kind of game. The commercial gesture of the travel agency? A fancy restaurant…
