ABACA:
Since announcing his cancer on February 5, the King of England has not been seen in public again. He made an exception for the traditional Easter liturgy.
The sovereign was the most anticipated figure in this traditional Easter service. This Sunday, March 31, he went to the square in front of St. George’s Chapel, very close to Windsor Castle, to attend a religious service. He was accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla.
This is her first public appearance since announcing her cancer on February 5, and a highly symbolic outing. Indeed, the British family has been hit hard for several months by Kate Middleton’s fake photo spread, her cancer announcement and her departure from the media scene, which has given rise to many conspiracy theories. Therefore, it was very important for Charles III to appear in person for the event and thus reassure the British people about the crown’s health.
While his doctors strongly advised him against public bathing, advising him instead to honor his appointments from his home at Clarence House, Charles III thus made an exception. Dressed very soberly, the 75-year-old sovereign appeared happy and smiling.
