The relationship between the protagonist sisters of ‘Frozen’ could have been very different with a scene that was deleted from the film. Find it out!
In the “Frozen” franchise, we meet sisters Anna and Elsa, who, despite living in the same palace, were raised separately and in totally different ways. This happened because Elsa did not fully master her powers, and the princesses’ parents were afraid of the eldest daughter hurting the youngest — which actually ends up happening. But did you know that, at first, their relationship wasn’t like that?
In addition to the two films in the Frozen franchise, on Disney+ there are some new behind-the-scenes videos about the animations. One of these contents shows a scene that was deleted from the sisters’ first film. In this excerpt, it is possible to see Anna and Elsa having fun lending each other clothes, moments before the eldest’s coronation.
The film’s directors, Chris Buck It is Jennifer Lee, revealed in the video how they loved the deleted scene, which was essential in shaping Anna’s fun personality. However, they explained why we didn’t see this moment in the film:
We wanted Anna and Elsa to interact the way we interact with our brothers and sisters when they share a room and borrow things. But we understood that once they were separated, they would have to be kept separate.”
Check out the video with the directors’ speech and the deleted scene:
But despite the problems that every family faces, the love between the sisters overcame all obstacles. In fact, the animation is highly praised for showing this relationship between them.
It is worth remembering that Disney confirmed during a shareholder meeting held in 2023 that the third film in the franchise is already in production. Furthermore, Bob Igercurrent CEO of The Walt Disney Company, also revealed in an interview with Good Morning America that the fourth feature film would also be in development.
Remember the trailer for “Frozen 2”, the latest adventure of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven!
