After all, who is the Samantha called by Olaf in “Frozen 2”?

During the “Frozen” franchise, Olaf is known for presenting countless phrases and memorable moments, ranging from the famous “warm hugs” to the way he summarized the story of Elsa and Anna.

In “Frozen 2”, the character delivered another unforgettable line while searching for his owners. At the time, the snowman was walking through the forest and calling for Elsa and Anna when, suddenly, he ends up calling for Samantha — a person who was never introduced in the plot. Remember!

The moment, despite being curious, went viral among fans, and is remembered by admirers to this day. But, after all, who is Samantha?

Invention?

Still during the scene, Olaf states that he doesn’t know any Samantha but, even so, he continues calling for her. The character, in fact, does not exist, and emerged through the creative imagination of Josh Gadthe character’s original voice actor in English.

Through his official page on X (formerly Twitter), the actor revealed that the line was not in the original script, and everything was nothing more than an improvisation that ended up making the final cut.

“During the process of making these films, it never ceases to amaze me that I can improvise something clinically insane in a sound booth and then the best animators in the world take my nonsense and bring it to life over thousands of hours. Thank you @disneyanimations,” Josh wrote.

In Brazil, dubbing maintained the improvisation of Gad. However, here, the person responsible for lending the voice to Olaf is the actor and comedian Fábio Porchat.

A curious fact is that, in 2019, while visiting the Disney parks in Florida, Josh Gad ended up finding one Samantha actually, who worked at Walt Disney World. Although the employee has no relationship with Olaf’s Samantha, the actor took the opportunity to make a joke on the internet, and shared a photo next to the girl with the caption “Oh my God. I finally found her! I FINALLY FOUND HER!!!”
