With signs in hand, several activists from the animal rights association Peta took to the stage at the former Spice Girl’s show this Friday, March 1, as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Already in her second year as a designer, participating in Paris Fashion Week, Victoria Beckham is already the target of detractors. This Friday, March 1st, the former Spice Girl unveiled her new collection on crutches inside the walls of the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris in front of a star-studded audience, almost her entire family consisting of David Beckham. Harper, Cruz and Brooklyn, but also Anna Wintour and Kim Kardashian. If her satin dresses, blazer jackets and leather coats were applauded, her style direction did not sit well with the few hecklers lurking between the rows during the event. This time it’s not Mary who infiltrates, but several activists from the animal rights association Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) The latter actually disrupted the show by entering the podium with signs and T-shirts bearing vegan slogans.

“Animals are not tissues”
“Long live vegan leather,” “Turn your back on animal skins,” or even “Animals are not fabric,” we could read before being escorted away by security agents. An action clearly claimed by Peta, who immediately wrote this message on social networks “No garment is worth the skin and dismemberment of a sentient animal. Victoria Beckham, animals are not textiles.” The association has therefore appealed to the designer to stop using calf leather for his pieces and instead use “ethical, ecological and high-quality innovations that are now available”. The interested party has not yet responded to this request.
