The “One Piece: The Series” actor revealed in a recent interview some difficulties he had during recording; know more!
For the live-action of One Piece to happen, everyone in the cast and production had to do their best. Taz Skylarinterpreter of Sanjirevealed that he had gone beyond his limits to deliver a good performance, which resulted in some unpleasant pains in his body.
In an interview with Esquire Middle East, the actor revealed details about the intense training for the character, including his sports and cooking routine. Furthermore, he claimed to have performed all of the stunts of Sanji.
There were 4 hours of training in the morning. I would prepare a dish for the series, then repeat the process several times for another four hours. Then we went to the sauna and stretched, they pulled my legs and pushed my back”, explained the Taz Skylar.
More than that, Taz revealed that stretching helped him improve, however, it also had negative effects on his legs, such as scars and unbearable pain. Therefore, he started putting tape on his legs in order to alleviate the constant pain.
I have scars inside my ligaments and it took me about a year to get up without pain. To improve it, I used to tape it up, but it needed to be discreet so I could do my own stunts.
There was no real way to get better without hurting myself because of how far we needed to go. For the second season, because I maintained my level and I haven’t stopped training since then”, said the actor.
One Piece: The Series has been renewed for a second season, which should debut only in 2025. It is worth remembering that the first season has eight episodes of up to one hour and is available through the Netflix streaming service. Remember the trailer!
