The sudden death of the 45-year-old financier was announced on Tuesday, February 27, in a press release from the Buckingham Palace.
They got married on May 18, 2019 and would celebrate their wooden wedding in 3 months. But Lady Gabriella, daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, cousin of Elizabeth II, is now a widow. According to the British press, the Buckingham Palace announced the death of her husband, Thomas Kingston, on February 27. “The King and Queen have been informed of Thomas’ death and join The Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all who knew him for a much-loved member of the family,” the palace said in a statement. Their Majesties send their sincerest thoughts and prayers especially to Gabriela and the entire Kingston family.”
A second press release was also issued by the palace on behalf of the deceased’s parents, Lady Gabriella, Martin and Jill Kingston, and her sisters, Joanna Connolly and Emma Murray. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother. Tom was an exceptional man who brightened the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the entire family and we ask that you respect our privacy while we mourn his passing.”

Sudden death
The circumstances of Thomas Kingston’s death are still unknown. But it is understood that he died on Sunday in Gloucestershire and that emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 6pm. The cause of his death is not suspicious and no one else is believed to be involved. But if Thomas Kensington’s death is such a “big shock” to his family, it’s because it was unexpected. The British financier was only 45 years old. Two weeks ago, on Valentine’s Day, he even attended a Shakespeare tribute with his wife and Queen Camilla.
Hours before news of Thomas Kingston’s death was announced, Lady Gabriella’s parents, Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family gathered at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle to remember another deceased, King Constantine of Greece. He died last year and was godfather to Lady Gabriella and Prince William. The latter did not participate in the ceremony in honor of the godfather for “personal reasons”.
