Who are the only two Disney princesses who have a profession?

Discover the two Disney princesses who, before enjoying the perks of royalty, performed common jobs!

Can you think of royals who have done common jobs? In the stories of Disney princesses this became possible, as two princesses already performed functions categorized as professions outside the world of fairy tales.

Who are they?

We’re talking about the first black princess from Mickey’s House animations, Tiana, from ‘The Princess and the Frog’ (2009), and the favorite princess from Walt DisneyCinderella, from the film of the same name released in 1950.

Even so, the activities they carried out were very different. Nicknamed Cinderella and described at the beginning of the film as a servant, Cinderella was a maid, even though in the animation she did not have her labor rights guaranteed and more than that, she was mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters.

The princess was solely responsible for cleaning the castle, cleaning and ironing the clothes, preparing and serving meals, as well as taking care of all the place’s chores. She began to be responsible for duties in the castle after her father’s death, being at the mercy of the desires and evils of the one who should guarantee her well-being, her stepmother.

Becoming a Disney classic, the story adapted from the version written by the French author Charles Perrault and published through the work “Contos da Mamãe Gansa”, it won two sequels entitled “Cinderella II: Dreams become reality”, released in 2002, and “Cinderella: Twist in Time”, which could be watched for the first time in 2007 , as well as a modern live-action adaptation starring lily james in 2015.

The princess’s flesh-and-blood adventure is available on Disney+ with the following synopsis: “Despite mistreatment by her stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and stepsisters, the courageous Ella (Lily James) decides to take the reins of her life. destiny. Add a royal ball, a Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham Carter) and a glass slipper, and magic happens.”

In the case of Tiana, she is presented as a waitress in the adaptation of the children’s plot ‘The Frog Princess’, a book written by ED Baker which was published in 2002 and is inspired by an even older work, as the original narrative emerged in the mid-1800s as a fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm titled ‘The Frog Prince’.

In the Disney film, the princess dreamed with her father of opening the family restaurant, but just like Cinderella, he had to say goodbye to his father very early.

However, the desire they shared always remained alive in Tiana’s mind and heart, making her strive every day in a cafeteria, stacking plates, cups and pitchers to serve the customers where she worked, so that her work would give him the resources he needed to make his dream come true.

So much so, that Tiana worked double shifts, as it was common for the princess to double shifts in an attempt to earn extra money and thus be able to save even more money to buy the establishment she had so much planned for.
