BTS’s Jin had the chance to join BIGHIT Music on two different occasions, all of them with the same kind of approach; discover the story!
Kim Seokjinbetter known by his stage name, Jin, made his debut as an idol in the South Korean music industry in 2013, when BTS made their long-awaited debut with the release of the mini-album “2 Cool 4 Skool”, and the title song “No More” Dream”, which received a powerful MV. Remember!
The group, which also has Jimin, Jungkook, V, RM, J-Hope It is Suga in their formation, they have completely different stories of how and why they were chosen as trainees at BIGHIT Music (formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment), the agency that manages BTS’s career.
This is because, there are cases in which the idols are the ones who found the companies, as happened with J-Hopewho after being denied by JYP Entertainment, decided to audition for the agency Bang Si-hyukor even those that have been noticed due to their relevance in the underground rap scene, such as RMalthough in both situations, the idols had to hold auditions.
In this way, as Jin, was discovered by BIGHIT Music? The truth is that Jin doesn’t fit into any of the examples above. The idol had the chance to join the agency after being approached by a scout in the city where he was born: Anyang, South Korea.
As good as the proposal seemed to be, perhaps it sounded too good for Jin, as the idol never contacted the company. As explained by the Koreaboo portal, Jin believed that that approach was part of a coup.
Still, this was only the first approximation in which Jin was the target. Years later, when he was a college student, a BIGHIT staff member approached the idol after seeing him get off a bus and invited him to participate in an audition at the company.
This time, Jin decided to accept the invitation and went to the appointed place. At the time, the artist auditioned to become an actor, as he had training in the field and even though he had no experience with singing or dancing, Jin was chosen as a trainee for the new group that the agency was creating: BTS.
As a trainee, Jin starred in the music video for “I’m Da One” by Jo Kwon, where he played a bodyguard. Due to his appearance, the idol, who calls himself “Worldwide Handsome” (something like “beautiful around the world”, in the free translation into Portuguese), was used as an actor, instead of a dancer.
please note that Jin was the fourth member to join BTS, as before him, the company had already chosen RM, Suga It is J-Hope. At the time, the idea was that the group formed around RM would have hip-hop as its main genre.
