Last Sunday, the 14th, the 29th edition of the Critics Choice Awards took place, an award that showcases the favorite films and series of the year according to Hollywood critics. The ceremony is considered a “thermometer” for the Oscars, which take place on March 10.
The 29th edition of the Critics Choice Awards took place at The Barker Hangar, in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and brought together several artists to announce the winners of each award. With 18 nominations, “Barbie” broke the record for the most nominated film in the history of the award, which previously belonged to “The Shape of Water” and “Everything in Every Place at the Same Time”, with 14 nominations.
“Oppenheimer” was the big winner of the night, taking home eight trophies, followed by “Barbie”, taking home six. Furthermore, beating “The Boy and the Crane”, “Spider-Man Through the Spider-Verse” won the award for best animated film.
