The hosting of Eurovision 2023 in Ukraine is a strong signal to the world that it supports Ukraine today, the ministry said.
The Ministry of Culture made a statement in response to the published statement of the European Language Union about the impossibility of holding Eurovision 2023 in Ukraine. The head of the department Alexander Tkachenko wrote about it on Facebook.
According to him, Ukraine does not agree with the nature of the decision of DASH. The official stressed that the country has been presented with a reality without discussing the possibilities of other options.
“We honestly won Eurovision 2022 and met all the conditions within the specified timeframe regarding the consent process that it will be held in Ukraine – we have provided answers and guarantees on safety standards and possible venues for competition, ”Tkachenko said.
He added that the holding of Eurovision 2023 in Ukraine is a strong signal to the world that he now supports Ukraine.
“We will ask to change this decision, because we believe that we will be able to fulfill all our obligations, which have been repeatedly mentioned by the European Language Union,” said the minister and called for further negotiations on the holding of Eurovision 2023 in Ukraine. .
