The star gathered all the works in different parts of the Crimean Peninsula for decades. More than 80 musicians joined the work on this album.
The album of the Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin Jamala became one of the best albums of 2023 according to the European online magazine Beehype.
We are talking about the album QIRIM, which consists of 14 songs, each of which tells about a separate region of Crimea.
“Unlike the world at large, the music is fine. Perhaps even better than before. Little revolutions in music are constantly happening, and this is perfectly demonstrated by our selection of the Best of 2023. An incredible notions of different instruments, rhythms come together here , melodies, language and inspiration – mostly for the first time,” says the publication’s foreword to the last musical selection of the year.
The singer himself has also responded to the news.
“That’s it! Now, sure, I’m making myself a poster. The famous European online magazine Beehype, which talks about current music from around the world, named the QIRIM album one of the best albums of 2023 with musicians from more than 80 countries,” wrote Jamala.
It was previously reported that Jamala responded for the first time to her arrest in absentia in Russia.
