Two children of a multi-millionaire heiress were kidnapped in Denmark on New Year’s Eve.

Danish and German police are searching for the two children of Block House steakhouse chain heiress Christina Block, who were kidnapped with their father on Jan. 1 during a fireworks display.

It is a case that shocks Denmark and Germany. Just after midnight on Monday, January 1, the German heir’s two children, Klara, 13, and Theodore, 10, were kidnapped while watching fireworks with their father in the picturesque Danish town of Grasten. How can we read? The Telegraph , several men knocked the father to the ground before hitting and then putting the children into two cars. The cars, Mercedes and Citroën, had German registration plates, which led to a cross-border search operation.

According to a German newspaper Bild: It turns out that the victims of the kidnapping are the two youngest children of the extremely wealthy Christina Block, the daughter of restaurant tycoon Eugene Block (whose net worth is estimated at $330 million or approximately €380 million), and from her ex; husband, Stefan Hensel. Danish police refer The Telegraph, they are likely to be involved in a custody dispute. Police are investigating whether there may be a link between “the events of the night and the matter of parental authority”. Indeed, following their divorce in 2018, Christina Block and Stefan Hensel, originally from Hamburg, have been embroiled in a fierce legal battle over custody of their children. After his separation, his father moved to Denmark, and his ex-wife, the heiress of the Block House chain of famous German steakhouses, stayed in Hamburg.

Call witnesses

In 2021, the couple made headlines when Christina Block announced to German media that her ex-husband had “kidnapped” their two youngest children. The latter did not return to their home in Hamburg after visiting their father at the weekend. For its part, the main party tried to defend itself by emphasizing that its children simply refused to return to Germany. He also accused his ex-wife of physical and emotional abuse. A legal battle ensued, involving Danish and German justice. The German court system ruled that Stephan Hensel should return the children to their mother, while the Danish courts ruled that it was better for them to stay with their father and granted visitation rights to the mother.

For now, we still don’t know where the brother and sister are, even if the kidnappers crossed the border or not. The police started questioning witnesses.
