After 50 years of existence, the legendary group is interested in a kind of digital immortality.

The legendary American rock band KISS played the last live concert of their farewell tour, The End of the Road, in New York. This was reported by The Washington Post.

However, we are not talking about the complete end of the band’s musical career, as they will continue to perform in a virtual format.

During the encore, the band’s current lineup—founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, as well as guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer—came off the stage to reveal their digital avatars. After that, the virtual KISS started performing the song God Give Rock and Roll to You.

It is known that the avatars of the members of KISS were created by the special effects company Industrial Light & Magic in collaboration with the Pophouse Entertainment Group.

“Our achievements are amazing, but it’s not enough. The band deserves to live because it’s more than us,” said KISS frontman Paul Stanley.

Bassist Gene Simmons added: “We can stay forever young and forever iconic if we go places we’ve never dreamed of before.

It was previously reported that the rock band KISS held a concert for sharks off the coast of Australia.
