YG Entertainment spoke again about the process of renewing contracts with BLACKPINK members
The stage of negotiations for the renewal of exclusive contracts between YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK received a new update from the entertainment company after new rumors emerged in the South Korean media last weekend.
This is because, according to the Soompi portal, the Munhwa Ilbo reported that Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo It is Lisa will continue to promote together as a group under YG Entertainment, however, their solo careers will no longer be managed by the company. In response, YG stated: “Nothing is confirmed and we are in discussion.”
It is worth remembering that the BLACKPINK members’ exclusive contracts with YG expired in August this year and, since then, the renewal of the link between the group’s members and the company has been discussed, with no agreement reached between the parties until publication of this article.
Due to the length of negotiations, the South Korean press speculates what the group’s future will be, in addition to revealing rumors involving the formation, which until then, had no information confirmed by the members or the agency.
Among these is the one revealed by the News1 portal, which presents the possibility that Jisoo It is Jennie they would have created their own individual agencies where they would manage their careers as soloists. In this scenario, the two would still be negotiating to maintain the group’s promotional activities with YG Entertainment.
There is also a rumor that Rosé she would have been the only one in the group to renew her contract with YG, while the other members would be negotiating to promote with the group for six months each year, as well as transferring their solo activities to other companies.
