This contemporary sentimental comedy marks the second collaboration between director Caroline Wignall and actress Laure Calamy, following the success ofAntoinette at Cevennes.
Everything seems to be smiling for Iris (Lor Calamy). her husband (Vincent Elbaz) is wonderful, her two lovely daughters and her dental business has never been better. Everything is perfect… except his sex life, which doesn’t exist. Having abstained from her relationship for too long, her mother decides to take on a boyfriend and sign up for a dating app. Then the men will come in their numbers until they overpower him.
Never change the winning team. After Irresistible Antoinette at CevennesA winner at the 2021 César Awards, this second collaboration between director Caroline Wignall and actress Laure Calamy looks promising. Iris and men, a timely sentimental comedy, deals with several themes: infidelity, hedonism, polygamy, but also female desire and consent… With this Iris, who (re)discovers the pleasures of the flesh, slightly pathetic men, embarrassing. infidels or funny old beauties will serve as comic relief. It is a moving portrait of a modern woman who longs for a little freedom in a society that is still very rigid.
The cast also includes Olivia Cote, Suzanne de Beke, Alexander Steiger and Laurent Poitrenot. Theatrical release: January 3, 2024.
