After speculation, YG Entertainment confirmed that BABYMONSTER will debut with only six members
This Wednesday, the 15th, YG Entertainment announced that BABYMONSTER will debut with six members. The news came after the News1 portal released a statement stating that Ahyeon would not join the group’s debut for personal reasons. The portal also confirmed that there is a possibility that the idol will join the girl group soon and the fact that she has not been dismissed from the company.
In a statement, a YG source confirmed the absence of Ahyeon at BABY MONSTER’s debut and that the reason behind this would actually be health-related issues. Check out:
BABYMONSTER will debut as a six-member group consisting of Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Haram, Rora and Chiquita. After careful discussion, it was decided that Ahyeon, who prepared together [com BABYMONSTER]will focus on resting for now for health reasons.
Although we are sad that we cannot introduce Ahyeon as a member of BABYMONSTER, we made this decision because of the artist’s health. We will spare no support so that Ahyeon can fully recover and return in good health.” (via Soompi).
No information has been released about Ahyeon’s future at BABYMONSTER or even at the agency.
BABYONSTER will make their official debut on November 27th and is YG Entertainment’s first girl group since BLACKPINK’s debut. Initially, the group was going to debut in September, but the agency postponed the moment by two months, due to “careful attention in selecting the title track”.
The group was formed in May this year and had seven members: Ahyeon, Haram, Rora, Pharita,Chiquita, Russia It is Wing. The group is multinational and features idols from South Korea, Thailand and Japan.
