The record debuted with over 1.65 million copies sold, surpassing the previous record of the 1989 original sold in 2014, when it sold 1.287 million copies in one week.
The publication said it was officially the highest first-week sales for any album since 2015, when Adele’s 25 debuted with 3.482 million purchases.
