In an interview, Jungkook explains why the songs on ‘Golden’ are focused on love
Exactly one week ago, Jungkook, from BTS, released “GOLDEN”, his first solo album. The album has 11 tracks, including the two pre-releases, “Seven” (feat. Latto) and “3D” (feat. Jack Harlow).
With the release of the album, fans were able to notice that all the songs on the release talked about love and relationships, whether in a good or bad sense. In an interview with Apple Music, the star explained the strong presence of the theme in the songs.
Jungkook made it clear to the interviewer Zane Lowe, that none of the tracks were based on any of his personal stories, as many fans suspected. He even said that love is a universal feeling, and that he wanted to express that throughout the album.
In fact, they’re all love songs, which I felt were the most universal feeling. So I wanted to work on a lot of these good songs that fit that kind of theme. And so you will notice in the album that there is a continuation of this love theme”, revealed the idol (via Koreaboo).
Kookie also commented on the lyrics of “Seven”, and other songs that were a little different from what fans were used to or expecting. The BTS maknae admitted that he knew this was the time to take a chance on this type of song and try to change his image a little, even though he was worried about it.
This is a very important moment for me. But as a young artist, this would be the time for me to sing lyrics like that and I needed to change my image a little. Honestly, even for me it was a challenge and I was worried about the lyrics myself.”
