The title track of Jungkook’s first solo album won his first award
Yesterday, November 9th, Jungkook won his first award for the single “Standing Next to You”. The hit was one of this week’s MCountdown candidates, competing with “Perfect Night”, by LE SSERAFIM. The title-track of BTS maknae’s solo album came out on top, with 9,622 points in total.
“Standing Next to You” is one of the 11 songs featured on “GOLDEN”, the first solo album by Jungkook, which was released last week. The track is heavily influenced by disco and funk rhythms and reflects a person’s determination to face all adversity alongside their loved one, since their love would be deeper than any problem.

The title-track has already reached incredible milestones! Last Tuesday, the 7th, the hit ranked first on Spotify’s daily Global Top Songs chart, becoming the third song from Jungkook to achieve this feat. The star had already recorded “Seven” (feat. Latto) and “3D” (feat. Jack Harlow) in the same position.
Because of this milestone, the idol became the first K-pop artist to manage to top this ranking with three different tracks. With this, he surpassed the milestone of BTS and BLACKPINK, who had only managed to place two songs at the top of that chart.
