after the inaugural grand exhibitione Unknown lake, The Bally Foundation presents the first solo exhibition of Saudi-American performance artist Sarah Brahim, organized by Vittoria Matarrese. Sometimes we are forever. Bringing together ten new installations spread over two floors in a space reminiscent of a dance studio, this exhibition questions the distinction between memory and imagination. Blending video, performance, photography, textiles and sound, Sarah Brahim borrows the title Sometimes we are forever In the words of Alain Badiou to describe the sense of eternity we sometimes feel. Zingaro and Persian women

Exile Cabaret: Persian Women Hugo Martin

Bartabas dedicates a third part of it Exile cabaret Persian women. In 2021, he paid tribute to Klezmer music and Yiddish culture, and in 2022, to the exile of the Irish nomads. This time he invited Iranian artists, musicians, singers and dancers, who joined the troupe. His show, with its lavish imagery, evokes a Scythian civilization based on matriarchy. A nomadic people, for whom the horse was a symbol of equality between the sexes. With these half-woman, half-horse warriors, Zingaro makes the cry of rebellion heard by these women, whether they are Afghans or Iranians.

Flowers bloom in Giverny in all seasons. The exhibition flower power The Impressionist Museum in Giverny (in collaboration with La Kunsthalle München) is proof of this. Boasting great masters of Impressionism such as Manet, Cézanne or Caillebotte, the route is divided into themes; history and mythology, science and art, politics and religions, combining about a hundred works (paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, books, designer dresses.) flower power beyond the poetic motif forces us to discover the symbolism of flowers since ancient times.

Total feminism

Feminisms and Music. Madonna’s pop todayBy Morgan Giuliani SP:

What does feminism owe to pop music? How do the two continue to feed off each other and feed into our ears, our ideas, and our unconscious mind? These are some of the many fascinating questions that Morgan Julian raises Feminism and Music. Pop from Madonna to the present day, the first part of a trilogy, the next two volumes of which will focus on hip-hop and rock. from the translator of Justify my love Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, the author provides an overview of the feminist discourse, as it has irrigated the songs and characters of the great pop stars of the last 40 years, more or less implicitly. But also the incessant backlash they’ve fallen victim to, like girl power The Spice Girls, offended because they were considered too “girly” or too commercial, or the hypersexualization of Madonna, which we continue to criticize even today. The work also questions the way in which current artists, from Clara Luciani to Billie Eilish via Lizzo or Pomme, perceive the vision of the female body, male-female relations or LGBTQ+ identity in a post-MeToo world. An illuminating sum that shows how pop remains a political arena, a true mirror of the times that never distorts.
