SHINee’s Taemin opens up about how he feels about being appointed as a role model for new idols

SHINee’s Taemin revealed on BTS’s Suga’s talk show

On “Suchwita”, an interview program presented by Sugamember of BTS, Taeminfrom SHINee, revealed how he feels about being appointed as a model for new idols, given that the idol has had 15 years of debut in the Korean music industry, as the group debuted in 2008. The information is from the Koreaboo portal.

The subject came up after Taemin noting that “a singer’s life is short, especially as an idol”, and that, although he noticed that it has become increasingly common for current idols to promote for “much longer”, he reveals that it wouldn’t be “strange stop at any time.”

SHINee’s maknae was comforted by Sugawho stated that he is much loved and an example to many, after Taemin reflect that he needed to prepare himself for the moment to leave the spotlight, even though he has a continuous desire to be loved and to try new things to meet people’s expectations.

Thinking about that, Suga he questioned whether junior artists reached out to him to share how he inspired them to enter the world of K-pop. Taemin confirmed that he did, as well as revealing that the feeling of hearing these reports is “incredible”, further validating his achievements in the artistic world.

Finally, Taemin revealed that there is an “underlying reason of wanting to look good to others”, but that he has come to the conclusion that he wants to be a “source of inspiration”, following the inspiration of senior artists who helped him to be where he is today.

I want to become someone who can be a source of inspiration to other people, because other people have been that to me. I want to be part of this virtuous cycle.”
