Dorothy Janine was almost the last to know that her book. Rebellion of the Lost Girls, was selected in the first list of the Goncourt Prize. That day, he preferred not to think about it and repair the phone. He had absolutely no idea that his latest novel, which mixes history and fiction, could be selected for this prestigious award, he said on the show “Conversations” hosted by Joseph Ghosn.
His novel goes back to the uprising of May 6, 1947 in the Fresnes women’s prison. Dorothy Janine explains: “These are not women, they are young girls who were beaten by their principal.” In addition to this rebellion, it is also a family story that intertwines for the writer, but he will only discover this at the end of writing his novel.
