Discover which moments Disney’s greatest villains stand out in the short film celebrating the studio’s 100th anniversary
Completing 100 years this Monday, the 16th, the Disney celebrated the date with the release of “Era uma Vez um Estúdio”, a short film that brings together 543 animated figures who starred in the productions of the studio created by Waltit’s your brother, Roy Disneyon this same day in 1923.
In the plot, names that are part of the studio’s history come together to take a group photo in celebration of the company’s century of existence, making it possible to see princesses, animals, gods, creatures and of course, some of the most feared characters side by side. : the villains.
Responsible for bringing difficulties to the lives of the good guys, these evil beings are an important part of the narrative taking shape, helping to transmit valuable messages and teachings, therefore, they could not be left out of the historic moment in the trajectory of Walt Disney Animation Studios.

1. Chernabog
Described as the source of all evil in a 12th century text, Chernabog, is inspired by the deity of the same name belonging to Slavic Mythology, appearing for the first time in ‘Fantasia’ (1940), where he is presented as a demon on the island of the lost, responsible for using his powers to torment the village.
In the short film, he appears at minute 3:35 while the puppies from “101 Dalmatians” are watching TV. At the moment in question, he opens his wings and then leaves the screen, scaring the little dogs.
2. Prince Hans

The youngest among 13 brothers, Prince Hans becomes the main antagonist of “Frozen” when he realizes that he will not become king, planning to marry Anna and then kill Elsa, so he can have the chance to reign in the world. neighboring kingdom to yours: Arendelle.
The villain who fooled everyone with his false kindness appears briefly in Disney’s 100th anniversary special, when, at 2:40, Anna and Elsa walk together towards the studio entrance, while the younger sister asks: “Do you Do you think all the villains will show up?” In response, Elsa stops Hans from jumping out of her frame by freezing him and says, “Not everyone.”
3. Hades

The God of the Underworld, Hades, is willing to do anything to take over Mount Olympus, including ending the life of Hercules, the protagonist of the film of the same name released in 1997, even though his plan did not have the ending he would have liked.
The charismatic antagonist appears in the new animation during minute 6:31, right after the characters start singing “When You Wish Upon a Star”, a song that features on the “Pinocchio” soundtrack. On this occasion, he rolls his eyes and says: “I knew that was going to happen”, as a satire on Disney’s custom of making musical animations.
4. Gaston

In “Beauty and the Beast”, Gaston is the vain, strong and handsome guy courted by all the girls in the village where he lives, all except Belle, who is precisely the one he wants to marry. Thus, his moment of villainy comes when the protagonist denies his marriage proposal, causing him to organize several perverse plans in an attempt to ensure that the girl has no other option than to spend eternity by his side.
With that, Gaston could not appear in any other way. The villain appears at minute 3:10 admiring himself in the mirror alongside great characters from the studio such as Chicken Little from “O Galinho Chicken Little”, Milo from “Atlantis: The Lost Kingdom”.
As everyone gets ready for the photo, he hums: “Anyone wants to be you, Gaton”, moments before the Cheshire Cat from “Alice in Wonderland” surprises him and Minnie invades the resentment, rushing the boys.
5. Scar

Just like Prince Hans and Hades, Scar’s desire is to become a king and rule. However, in “The Lion King”, to achieve his will, Scar sets an ambush to sacrifice his own brother, Mufasa, and his nephew, Simba, to become the only one fit to rule the savannah.
The evil Scar, appears at minute 5:02 after Ralph from “Wreck-It Ralph”, bumps into the glass door at the studio entrance and becomes bewildered, leading the villain to say: “I’m surrounded by idiots”.
