For her seventh production, Melanie Laurent is signing on for an action comedy, sort of Mission Impossible for women and assembles a beautiful cast with Isabelle Ajani as the powerful ‘Godmother’.
Carol (Melanie Laurent) and Alex (Adele Exarchopoulos) are best friends and inseparable… but also high-flying robbers. Their duo is so effective that their powerful “godmother” (Isabel Ajani), the woman they work for, orders them on a new mission to capture a priceless painting. While they want to get out to find a free life, the thieves will have to complete this last task. Then they hire ex-racing driver Sam (Manon Breche), just as adventurous as they are. But this last mission will be especially dangerous.
Shooting and stunts
For her seventh production, Melanie Lorraine signs here an action-comedy between women’s group film Mission Impossible And Ocean’s Eleven. Thieves adapted from the comics by Bastien Vive, Jerome Muleau and Florent Rupert The Great Odalisque, published in 2012. In the film, the trio of robbers perform incredible stunts and shootout scenes. Filming was not easy for Adele Exarchopoulos, who was injured during the scene, as she assured our pages. “The filming was very happy. Until my nose broke. I had an operation, then I wore a cast for two weeks, filming stopped. We had a fight scene. I had rehearsed off the set, but when we get on the set, there are things to adjust to. We changed the choreography. While everyone was getting ready, I offered the actor playing my rival one last little try. And I completely forgot about the new choreography. I woke up on the floor, bleeding. I faced my devastated partner, although it was my fault,” he explained in a conversation with us.
Philippe Caterin and Felix Moati complete the cast. Streaming on Netflix from 1eh November
