However, this Monday, the 2nd, SM Entertainment issued a statement announcing that the member Jungmin will not be able to debut with the group, and is leaving the formation for health reasons. Check out the full statement:
“Hello. This is SM Entertainment.
We express gratitude to fans who have been waiting for NCT NEW TEAM (tentative name) to debut, and we are sharing an announcement about Jungmin being selected as a pre-debut member.
After confirming the pre-debut members, NCT NEW TEAM was preparing to greet fans during the pre-debut tour starting on October 8th.
However, due to health reasons, Jungmin recently stopped practicing and other activities and was focusing on treatment. As official activities will begin soon, we continually discuss the possibility of Jungmin participating in activities with him, along with his family and medical team.
After deep consideration of Jungmin’s health as a top priority, Jungmin will not join NCT NEW TEAM and will return to being a trainee, deciding to focus completely on recovery.
We apologize for causing concern with the sudden news to fans who were rooting for Jungmin’s debut, and we will support Jungmin so he can focus on treatment and recovery and pursue new activities in good health.
As a result, NCT NEW TEAM will carry out activities with six members from now on. They are preparing hard to impress fans, so please show warm support and interest.
