On the morning of this Thursday, the 21st, the South Korean portal StarNews published an article stating that, in order to improve the launch, YG Entertainment had decided to postpone the debut of its newest girl group BABYMONSTERinitially scheduled to take place this month.
The publication further states that Yang Hyun-sukfounder of the agency, is leading all of the group’s production and that, despite it having already been decided that the debut song will be in the hip-hop genre, the company’s team is “putting more effort than ever into the music”.
It is worth remembering that, in July this year, YG had confirmed that BABYMONSTER’s long-awaited debut would take place in September. At the time, the South Korean press stated that the choreography and music video for the debut song were already in the post-production phase. So far, the company has not yet commented on the postponement.
The selection process of members for the new girl group was presented through the reality show “Last Evaluation” where, after nine episodes, the seven members of the formation were confirmed: Pharita, Ruka, Rora, Ahyeon, Chiquita, Haram It is Wing.
Before making their official debut, BABYMONSTER released their first pre-debut song, titled ‘DREAM’. The track reached first place on the US Billboard ‘Hot Trending Songs’ chart on May 27, 13 days after its debut on the 14th of the same month. Check out!
