The film, which premieres on November 17th, is set 64 years before the events presented in the plot starring Katniss and Peeta, where it will follow the story of President Snow when he was still young, and ends up being chosen as one of the mentors of the tenth edition of the games.
Just like the original trilogy, “A Cantiga dos Pássaros e das Serpentes” is also an adaptation of the book, which bears the same name, written by the author Suzanne Collins. But, do you know the exact chronological order of all the works? RECREIO tells you!
The Hunger Games: Song of Birds and Snakes
The work takes place during the tenth edition of the Hunger Games, and focuses on the youth of Coriolanus Snow, presenting the reasons that led him to become the tyrannical president who, in the first films, was played by Donald Sutherland. The plot is set during the period known as the Dark Days, which are 10 years after the war, and before Panem was at its peak.
At this time, the Capital decides to choose some young people to become mentors for the tributes drawn for the competition, with the aim of transforming the games into something more “attractive” for the public. This is how Snow ends up being selected as a mentor to Lucy Gray, a tribute from the miserable District 12.
Hunger Games
The first book, released in 2008, begins the story of Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old girl who volunteers for the 74th Hunger Games to spare her younger sister, and moves the country. After being chosen as District 12’s tributes, the two begin to pretend to be in love with each other, to attract sponsors who can help in their survival during the dispute.

Despite being seen as “underdogs” during the competition, due to the situation in their District, the duo ends up achieving an unprecedented feat: they are elected, together, as the winners of the edition.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
After Katniss and Peeta’s unexpected victory in the 74th Hunger Games, the mood changes in Panem. In all districts, signs that a possible revolution is approaching are beginning to emerge, especially after the duo defied the government by winning the last edition together.

The great growth in the influence of the two young people from District 12 begins to raise concerns in the Capital which, to keep them under control, decides to put them back in the arena to compete, once again, for their own lives.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay
The last book in the franchise, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay”, was released in 2010, and presents the beginning of the great revolution. With the arrival of revolutionary rebels from District 13, a resistance against the Capital can finally be formed, and Katniss needs to prepare to return to the fight again.

Now, despite being against her will, the young woman becomes the main symbol of the resistance, known as Tordo, where she needs to influence everyone in the country to join the revolution.
