The artistic director of the Balmain label announced this Sunday, September 17, that he was a victim of the theft of more than fifty pieces from his new collection. This was to be presented as part of Paris Fashion Week.
“Over 50 pieces of Balmain were stolen,” wrote Olivier Rousteing on Instagram this Sunday, September 17. The designer and artistic director of the luxury label has thus discovered that some of the pieces from his new collection, which were originally due to be shown in less than ten days for Paris Fashion Week, have all been stolen.
“I went to the office at 9am today, waiting for our last show on September 1st. I was starting to create looks with my team and our driver called us and said he was kidnapped by a group of people,” he added. And continues. “More than 50 pieces of Balmain were stolen. He was driving from the airport to the headquarters of Balmain. It’s so unfair.”

“Lack of Respect”
The 38-year-old fashion designer confided her huge disappointment after “working so hard” with her team. “We will work more, day and night, our suppliers will also work day and night,” he continued, however, describing this theft as “a great lack of respect.” For the rest, Olivier Rousteing reassured his community, explaining that his driver was fine and in good health. The creator has not yet given more details about the reasons for such theft.
Many creators also reacted to his misfortune. “Strength,” encouraged Simon Port Jacquemus. “My love, it’s scary, it’s scary, but I’m sure you and the whole BalmainArmy will put on the best show of your life. And we’ll all be there to applaud and support you. We will never stop creating,” wrote fashion journalist Bruno Astuto. Such stars as supermodel Linda Evangelista have also expressed their support. “Sending you love,” it says.
