In a video, Paris Jackson explains why she didn’t pay tribute to her father on his birthday

Returning to the negative comments of some fans, Paris responded with sarcasm. “That being said, social media seems to be the way people express their love and affection these days, and if you don’t wish someone ‘Happy!’ On a birthday via social media, that apparently means you don’t like them. He went on to highlight the harsh backlash he sometimes faces. “People are losing their minds. They even say: end my life. Basically, they judge my love for my own father by what I share on Instagram.”

Paris, however, paid tribute to her father in public, crediting her own success to his legacy when she took to the stage that same day to open for Colorado rock band Incubus. “My father would have turned 65 today. He gave 50 years of blood, sweat, tears, love and passion to do what he does so that I can stand on stage in front of you and scream through the loudspeaker. So I owe everything to him,” he humbly stated.

Paris then steered the conversation toward causes close to Michael Jackson’s heart, suggesting that his “super fans” in turn support environmental causes or animal rights. His message was also accompanied by a request for kindness and understanding. “Please don’t use a man you’ve never met as an excuse to abuse and harass his daughter you’ve never even met,” she wrote, ending the simple message of “LOVE”.
