In an interview with ‘Wizards of Waverly Pod’, Selena Gomez revealed her biggest regret in the series. Find it out!
Launched in 2007, the series “Os Feiticeiros de Waverly Place”, responsible for leveraging the career of the actress and singer Selena Gomez, is part of the catalog of the golden age of Disney Channel. The production lasted four seasons, and is considered the longest on the channel, with 106 episodes.
Its success was so great that the series won three Emmys Awards, the main American television award, in addition to receiving its own spin-off film, “Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie”, released in 2009.
Even 16 years after its premiere, the cast still keeps in touch to this day, and they always share their encounters through social networks. Furthermore, earlier this year, David DeLuise (Jerry Russo) and Jennifer Stone (Harper Finkle), launched a podcast together entitled “Wizards of Waverly Pod”, where they reminisce about the backstage of the series alongside some guests.
Selena he also made a point of participating in one of the episodes where, during the conversation, he revealed that he has only one regret about the series: having moved away from his co-stars.
“I think I slowly got kind of embarrassed. I felt ashamed of the decisions I made. I didn’t want you to see me in the state I was in because A, you would have told me the truth, which terrifies me, and B, I didn’t want to let you down.”
The time the actress refers to is the period that marks her departure from Disney, when she was suffering with her mental health due to media harassment in her personal life, and the beginning of a new era outside the children’s channel.
gomez continues his speech stating that, at that time, he thought he didn’t need a new family: “I felt like I was connected to everyone. Little did I know that I ended up with everyone I needed to be in my life with. I think I felt safe, and that’s a really hard thing to feel. I know you love me for me. There’s really… You genuinely loved me, and that’s all I could have asked for, the unconditional trust and bond we had, I miss it so much.”
During the conversation, Jennifer Stone still commented that it was good to hear these words from Selena, becauseat the time, began to wonder if the two had stopped being friends just because they had not told the singer what she would like to hear.
In response, Selena Gomez declared herself to her friend, saying “Of course, they are all valid [os questionamentos], and I really appreciate you. I love you so much in a way that I have never loved anyone else.”
