With that, all effects of the artist’s exclusive contract with the agency were legally nullified, and Blockberry will need to bear all legal expenses that Chuu had with the process.

It is worth remembering that the legal dispute against the idol and the company began in December last year, when Chuu filed a lawsuit against Blockberry Creative to point out the invalidity of its exclusive contract, accusing the entity of unfair profit, non-payment and breach of trust.

However, the situation between Chuu and Blockberry has been sensitive for much longer. In June 2022, the company announced that the idol would be out of LOONA’s first world tour due to “scheduling conflicts”. At that time, the artist’s denunciations of the agency’s injustices were already circulating in the South Korean press.
Five months later, in November of the same year, Blockberry Creative issued a statement announcing Chuu’s expulsion from LOONA, accusing the idol of “violent language and misuse of power” against company staff. The idol spoke through her social networks denying all the accusations, in addition to being defended by several entertainment professionals who have worked with her.
Since then, the other 11 members of LOONA have also filed petitions to void their exclusive contracts with Blockberry Creative. Today, all members have their contracts with the company suspended by determination of the South Korean court.
Currently, the members are divided into the following agencies: hyunjin, yeojin, I lived, gowon It is HyeJu (formerly known as Olivia Hye) at CTDENM; Haseul, heejin, kim lip, jinsoul It is Choerry they are at Modhaus; Chuu with ATRP; while yves it remains the only member that, until now, has not signed a contract with any other company.
