Barbie is the highest-grossing film ever made by a woman

Greta Gerwig’s fantasy comedy film Barbie has officially become the highest-grossing film directed by a woman. This was reported by Hypebeast.

Mattel’s doll movie earned $850 million in two weeks at the box office, setting a record. It was previously owned by Patty Jenkins for her DC Comics Wonder Woman movie in 2017, which earned US$822.8 million at the box office.

The Barbie movie is also the biggest opening of 2023, ahead of movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Super Mario Bros. in the film, which earned $146 million in its opening weekend.
