DAWN and HyunA announced their breakup late last year after six years together.
During a recent interview with Billboard, soloist DAWNopened his heart about his single “Dear My Light”, released in April of this year, where he stated that the song is a reflection of his feelings when he was in a relationship with HyunAalso soloist.
Second DAWN, the song “It’s a pretty direct reflection of how I felt when I was in love. I still believe this is the right way to love.”
HyunA It is DAWN ended their relationship in November last year after six years of dating. In the lyrics of “Dear My Light”, he reflects a little more on the breakup, stating that You know you were my everything / I was happy enough to let go / It’s okay if I lose everything / As long as I can see you gorgeous”.
Even after the breakup, DAWN always made a point of stating that, despite not being together anymore, he will remain admiring HyunA as a person and an artist. In the interview, he said:
“I heard someone say once that if you really love someone, then your brain strangely tricks you into thinking your lover is really you. Then you start to enjoy them as if you were taking care of yourself.”
The termination was announced by HyunA in November last year via Instagram, where he said in the caption: “We broke up. We have decided to remain friends and colleagues from now on. Thank you for your support and for looking down on us.”
The artists engaged the relationship in 2016, when they were still in the Cube Entertainment company, but they only publicly announced the union in 2018. HyunA It is DAWN ended up leaving the agency, and signed with PNation, led by PSYin 2019, where they remained until 2022.
